Joslin’s Beetham Eye Institute provides total eye care services for preventing, diagnosing and treating eye problems related to diabetes.

Our eye care is based on the most advanced therapies, provided by clinicians who are leaders in the field. Our patients have access to sophisticated diagnostic instruments and treatments that are often not available at most eye clinics.

This includes the innovative Joslin Vision Network (JVN), which enables Joslin patients to have annual eye exams—which are crucial for people with diabetes—without the discomfort of eye drops and dilated pupils.

Experts in Joslin’s Beetham Eye Institute provide specialized eye care for problems affecting the eye’s retina. There’s a lot we can do, even for the most feared eye complication of diabetes, “diabetic retinopathy.”

Care for other complex eye conditions—such as glaucoma, cataracts and age-related macular edema—are referred to ophthalmologists in the Joslin-BIDMC Collaborative Eye Care Program.
